Why use a saucer for a square pot?

The saucer for a square pot is placed underneath the pot to avoid having to collect water from the ground every time you water it. An easy and convenient way to keep the crop always clean. It goes without saying that it is easier to collect water from the saucer than from the ground. Also, when the pots become too dry, the water that we pour on the plants falls back down. If you have a saucer underneath, you can collect the water again and pour it back on the plant. A technique that allows you to save water and reuse it . However, it is not advisable to leave stagnant water in the saucer for more than 24 hours, as it can affect the roots of the plants to the point of rotting them. The stagnant water will probably be dirty. It is very important, however, to separate the saucer from the ground with some object so that heat does not pass through to the pot, especially if the crop is outdoors.
